What we do

History

CWC members transform lives each day, not simply with monetary donations, but with hands-on tangible projects that provide immediate impact to the community in which they live and work. Using a grassroots approach where we act locally and impact globally, our members touch the Pajaro Valley community, the state, country, and nations abroad.

Since 1920 CWC members have been transforming lives every day. From the early days of a group of women coming together to obtain a Home Demonstrator for the county to folding bandages and baking cakes for the Soldiers Clubs during World War II, to financing and building a clubhouse in the 1950’s to raising tens of thousands of dollars to meet the growing social service and welfare needs both locally and internationally.

in the spotlight - CWC Chooses Veterans Transition Center as annual focus non-profit

Last month CWC selected the Veteran’s Transition Center as their annual “Penny Welfare” recipient. The Penny Welfare program started years ago when members would donate loose change to a piggy bank and then donate the proceeds at the end of the club season. The program has grown to holding small fundraisers each month, which has resulted in more impactful donations.
